The 2024 en primeur campaign is still unfolding. While several châteaux have yet to release their wines, one thing is already clear: this is a vintage defined by restraint, freshness, and quiet confidence. Rather than overpowering opulence, 2024 offers balance, finesse, and elegance — a welcome return to the soulful side of Bordeaux.
Here’s a look at some of the wines that moved us — and a few we’re eagerly awaiting.
🏆 Top Wines That Moved Us
Château Léoville Barton. A masterclass in classic Saint-Julien. Think ripe black fruit, subtle spice, refined tannins, and an impressively long finish. A wine of restrained power and timeless poise.
Château Pontet-Canet. Stunning. Vibrant cassis and raspberry notes pop with freshness and energy. The picking window was perfectly judged — the result is pure, juicy brilliance.
Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion. Among the best 2024s we've tasted so far. A blend of ripe, open fruit, juicy acidity, fine salinity, and deep minerality. This estate is on a remarkable run.
Château Montrose. Spectacular. An elegant nose of fruit and toast, followed by a broad and fresh palate. The finish — mineral and precise — is truly memorable.
Château Angélus. Subtle and beautifully layered. Red fruit emerges gradually, unfolding into a wine of great depth and class. A standout of the vintage — and smartly priced, too.
Château Rauzan-Ségla. Elegant and polished Margaux with a fine floral lift. The fruit is pure and focused, the tannins velvety, and the overall impression one of calm precision. A wine that will reward both early and long-term drinking.
Château Figeac. A wine of grand stature and depth. Cabernet-driven freshness, graphite, and floral notes give way to a silky texture and great length. Figeac’s balance and clarity in 2024 are a testament to its status as a Right Bank icon.
⏳ Wines We’re Eagerly Waiting For
Château La Conseillante (awaiting release)Known for its floral finesse and detail, it’s one of the most graceful expressions of the 2024 vintage.
Vieux Château Certan (awaiting release)A name that carries weight. With its signature aristocratic depth and elegance, this is one of our most anticipated releases.
💡 Surprises & Smart Buys
Château de Ferrand. Juicy purple fruit with hints of blood orange. This wine is broad, spicy, and impressively long. An elegant sleeper hit.
Clos Puy Arnaud. Joyful and biodynamic. A characterful Castillon offering early approachability and real charm.
Château Puygueraud. Super juicy with crisp acidity and fine tannins. A delightfully balanced wine that's both drinkable and expressive.
Each of these wines brought something distinctive to the glass — from delicate restraint to structured minerality, from joyful fruit to thoughtful complexity.
More highlights will follow as the campaign continues — stay tuned.
